Well technically think about it, no monk lesser chance to succeed. Many come in there with Levels less than 20 and people tend to leave. If the leaver knows its not the best of groups they also leave.

I used to care, but frankly, between questionable game design decisions (totally random and unbalanced teams, allowing low level players to play there), idiots/newbies (yay, another team that ignores the enemy monk to attack a warrior instead!), and just plain griefers, I've given up trying to hold the high ground here and have become like everybody else: leave and rejoin repeatedly until you get a team that looks like it might have a chance.

Go to Team Arena then. You don't NEED a monk to win - I've got to the ten win limit with a group of 3 warriors and a ranger!
In fact, we made it through 3 or 4 teams in team arena combat too before we finally got our butts kicked...
Another unlikely team that we went far with was the 3 monk, 1 warrior team. Because we had three monks who all could play well, we just couldn't die. I, as the hammer warrior, managed to take out a few low-armor enemies(including a few monks) but usually the other team would just start to drop in frustration... eventually one of our monks dropped (round 8ish) and we got a hammer ranger. Went up to round 17 before being taken out by a team with a healer and bonder(Match went 20 minutes, though).

uh... the monk first syndrome. Actually killing monk first ain't such a good solution in many cases. Every team should kill/dp the guy that represents major threat to the team, you should be able to figure out who that is.

My standard whisper to these people anymore is "So you don't have any B**** eh? (This is conceptual and not literal for all the females out there )
Cowards through and through....either that or idiots (griefers, people that waste my time).
I have had many, many, many 15+ streaks in RA with no monks. Just like people don't understand that an interupt is most always superior to a heal (poor unloved Mesmers) and that a good offense can be superior to a defense, the leavers I believe are just not very good PVP players period.

Oh, please. You know I meant things like your team of Mending Warriors who can't outdamage a fly trying to hack at a warrior who's got a monk lazily throwing spells at him. Yeah, if you've got a miracle team that can manage to suppress a monk and attack someone else, you can do that, but the vast majority of the time you're lucky if your team has enough damage output to beat a monk at all.

Who said you did? I didn't.
Nevertheless, you can't deny that random arenas would be more fun if the random team selection was a little more intelligent. Not asking for miracles here, not even a healer on every team... just something that rejected clearly ridiculous combos, like four healer monks.

Yes you do have to get the monk first... its a basic principle wich is needed for random arenas, or do you think you can kill som1 while a monk is healing him?
you can't with a PUG group (not talking about a teamgroup, only random arenas)

that was a mesmer/necro, not a monk. anyways, it's either a bot or just a griefer, since he said the same message every time, and left at pretty much the same time (right after the gate opens).
since i'm still playing around with my build, i'm not going to bring rez unless i figure out a skill that can be left behind. so far, i haven't found it yet. everything i put into my skillbar is useful. and anyways, the 5 second chargeup just screams "interrupt me! please!" so i often just not bring it.

regarding the comment to the monk syndrome: silent assasin has a point. RA is usually the place where this syndrome is manisfested by many players and usually it's a good choice. The sad thing is that some of the RA players manifest this syndrome in HA.

I thik you don't realise the importance of a rez Sig. If i could i'd bring 4 rez signets in HA (not always, but sometimes it would help alot).
In RA i think it's imperative for every1 to have. If some1 dies and the opposing team has an interruptor than at least 2 people should use rez at the same time. If more than one interrupt guy is present, than every1 should use rez to increase the chance of a succeful rez.
You said all your skills are useful and there is no place for rez signet. Think again. In TA or even in RA if you can't beat the other team using only 7 skills + rez you wont beat them with 8 skills (without rez). You might take this as fact. Sure, in some cases that tiny little skill you got instead of rez might save the day, but what are the chances for that to happen?
Yet again, what is more important? Your one extra skill or the 7 (maybe 8) extra skills your dead friend has? Just do the math! IMO no rez = 1 more skill and rez = 7 or 8 extra skills.

Interviewing the people in RA:
Me:Hi Necro, what do you do?
Necro: Uh, the only Elites I use are SS and Life Transfer, I'm original huh? I'm also a great MM
Me:Hi Monk, what do you do?
Monk:I hide behind walls and spam Rof
Me:Hi Warrior, what do you do?
Warrior: MENDING POWER FTW!!!!1111oneoneoneeleve I'm using Restore Life! I'm using Frenzy while I'm under attack! YAAAAAA!!!
Me:Hi Ele, what do you do?
Ele:I use fire so I get totally owned by Interupters, I always flame in general chat if they do that
Me:Hi Ranger, what do you do?
I trap and use Storm Chaser to get away
Me:Hi Mesmer, what do you do?
Nothing, I'm always the target and get owned by those Frenzy Wammo's. Hey, thats why we need fast casting, so we can at least cast 1 or 2 spells per battle
Welcome to RA >_>
This would've been my sig if we could have 1:

Oddly enough, whenever I meet someone who I know is a good player (because I know their names from forums), or I see they're from a high guild, they are usually the ones to rush in (often citing boredom) and seem to leave if the team doesn't have a monk. In fact, there is one regular poster here who I got in a game with, and as soon as we started to lose (one death), he left. I won't mention his name though.
